AVIATION: Airbus claims to have delivered more planes than Boeing

The European aircraft manufacturer Airbus last year has reinforced its position as world number one before its U.S. rival Boeing in garnering 574 net orders and delivering 510 planes to airlines, according to a report released Monday trading at its headquarters in Toulouse.

Airbus has surpassed its goals and recorded a new record of 498 in deliveries after 2009.

In spite of 70 cancellations, it has also more than doubled the number of orders compared to the previous year (271), which represents a $ 74 billion at list prices.For December alone, he has received 186 orders.

Last week, Louis Welsh, CEO of parent company EADS, had suggested that 2010 would be an excellent year for the aircraft manufacturer indicating that orders and shipments would les62 one and the other above 500.

But beyond these figures, Airbus is better than its rival Boeing, which had announced on January 6, having recorded 530 net orders and 462 deliveries last year.

FRANCE: The auto-entrepreneur explode the number of start-ups

The number of new companies has reached a new record for France in 2010, with 622,039 businesses created, an increase of 7.2% over one year through the scheme of self-contractor, according to figures released Tuesday by INSEE.

In 2009, 580,193 new businesses were registered, including 427,890 individual businesses.

Last year, 458,380 individual businesses were created in France, with nearly 360,000 under the single status of the entrepreneur.

More than one in two businesses has been created under the new regime in 2010, reports the National Institute of Statistics.

Came into force on 1 January 2009, the status of the entrepreneur allows employees, unemployed, pensioners and students to develop an activity as primary or supplementary to increase their income, with simplified procedures and a very favorable tax treatment.

In the single month of December 2010, the number of new companies is down from the month of November (-6.7%). The declining number of births of self-entrepreneurs is partly offset by higher auto-off creations contractors (+13.2%), INSEE said.
